Three favorite romance-section titles:
3. Real Vamps Don’t Drink O-Neg
2. The Devil Wears Tartan
1. Let Sleeping Rogues Lie
(What does the title of this post mean? It’s a special treat for people who know my REAL favorite romance novel title, but it’s one I can’t publish in the blog.)

Consumer protection? (I’m getting on my soapbox)
Posted in Uncategorized on January 25, 2009 | 1 Comment »
Like most people I don’t have the time or energy to follow every law that is enacted, then somewhere down the line I notice the results which are in turns fantastic, dicouraging or outrageous.
Like everyone here, when high lead levels were revealed in toys coming from China last summer, I was concerned. Like some, I [...]
And the Winner is….

Now that I’ve shed my allotted few tears, on to that other important thing that happens in the second half of January. The Newbery and Caldecott!
I’ve gotten into a few discussions this week with some of my favorite librarians about who the winners will be. My answer? I’ve got no clue. Without fail, it will [...]
Obambarded

Don’t you love it when you find a new word? One that immediately strikes your imagination? You just want to wrap it around yourself and snuggle down with a cup of coffee.

We had a comment asking about Martha’s Vineyard “coffee table” books, and it got me thinking that there are so many Vineyard books, there are a whole bunch of ready-made posts waiting for me… and people might actually find this useful…
So here goes… Obviously, there are quite a few books that we will have again [...]

2008 Top Ten
Posted in Uncategorized on January 2, 2009 | 4 Comments »
Everyone’s been giving their top ten lists for the year, so I thought I’d share the list of the Bunch of Grapes’ top ten bestsellers for 2008.
A couple things to keep in mind: Obviously our sales were affected by the fire. There are books I know without a doubt would have been on this list [...]
